But this is not the show the others were and even the crowd is not nearly as stoked. There are some very likeable parts to this but this is a notch above
...
the 10th which I consider the weakest of the NY run. Short first set and just never take it the nth degree the way they do in the others. UJB is good and M Dew gives this 1 solid point.
No matter what this is not a 5 and definately not the best of the run.

i saw phil with scofield in albany on the previouse tour and i was certaint it could not be topped. i was happily proved wrong. the first set had me on
...
my feet with little movement aside from charlie and rag. the second set i slipped right into the phil zone with shake down and later proved to be an awesome set ( mag mtn.>u.j.b> truckin> golden rd> i am ze walrus)and a tip of the hat to the taper. they really captured the beacon sound

well i was there. yes the beacon theater is one of the best places to see a show. joan is hot, other guys can play, but we knew that. once they get that
...
room dialed in, its the deal. it was a little snotty in the first set, but the dialing in was in fact done.. great tune list. phil still holding his own. rock on.

Very nice audio quality, some really hot jamming and great singing by Joan, especially, but two major trainwrecks in second set: trying to transition
...
into Shakedown and, Joan coming in way too early on the last verse of Magnolia Mountain (which is rapidly becoming one of my fave songs). Also, why can't any post-GD bands do UJB well? 3.49***

this show was incredible. the jamming was amazing-that second set was ridiculous and the song selection was perfect. loved everything about this show.
...
for me having phil play the narrator, joan play delia and rob play bayo made this stagger lee the coolest one i have ever heard. they really closed the beacon in style. this band is sick tight and just keeps getting better. bravo phil you are the master.

This audience recording has just enough audience ambience that it feels like you are right there in the taper section. I love how this recording picks
...
up the audience singing along to the tunes. Instruments come through nice and clear, Phil is clearly driving the band and Joan, once again, digs down deep with her vocals. Larry Campbell may be the real ace in the hole with this band. The man can REALLY PLAY!!
Having never been to the Beacon, is it just me or is this a great sounding building? I wish all audience recordings sounded as good as these Beacon shows sound.
This show has a great song selection, especially in the 2nd set. Shakedown->Speedway is especially hot.
A 5 star show in my book.

i just got back from 2 nights of this line-up at the hammerstein ballroom. i have to say that this is the most vocally talented plf line-up yet and certainly
...
has produced some of the most soulful music that phil has been apart of since '99. i think that this can at least partially attributed to barry sless' masterful playing, especially on pedal steel.

So far, great! This is a really good audience recording with clear vocals and good separation of instruments. Thanks Tony!
Joan Osborn is incredible ... on vocals for Morning Dew, Magnolia Mountain, Mr. Charlie, and others. Definitely not your average Phil + Friends show!
With all the excitement over 2-12, don't forget to check out this gem!
